COLUMBIA BASIN PEDIATRICS
Richland, WA
ARCHITECT: LPR Architecture
SIZE: 5095-SF
PROJECT SUMMARY: The architecture of the Columbia Basin Pediatrics building draws inspiration from the distinctive Cadwell Dental office, which stands on the neighboring property. By incorporating elements such as barrel roofs and gentle wall curves, the design establishes a harmonious connection between the two buildings while embracing a modern aesthetic through its innovative use of materials. This architectural cohesion creates a unified and visually appealing streetscape along Keene Ave in Richland, WA. The design process began with a focus on creating a highly efficient interior layout that prioritizes the ease of circulation for both patients and staff. The interior core is characterized by soaring ceilings, complemented by a central skylight that infuses the space with controlled daylight, promoting a natural and welcoming atmosphere. Patient exam rooms are strategically arranged along the eastern and western sides of the building, optimizing functional efficiency and privacy. Within these spaces, the interior finishes add a touch of sophisticated whimsy, incorporating subtle shapes and muted colors that contribute to a soothing and comforting environment.
